Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club is a public, 36 hole golf facility located in Dade City Florida, just a few miles from Brooksville. The facility has two 18-hole courses, they are: lake Jovita North Course and Lake Jovita South Course.
The newer of the two courses is The Lake Jovita North Course which opened in 2002. The course was designed golf course architect Kurt Sandness. Like the South Course, the strategy behind this course was simple: to take full advantage of the uniquely hilly terrain and create a golf course that is professional tour quality in every sense.
The North course has even greater elevation changes than the South; providing golfers with positively incredible views of the scenic community.
The North Course continues the tradition of the South Course in terms of movement and elevation changes that are contrary to most Florida courses, In fact, from the second tee box, you can see five or six miles to the northeast.
Gold tees: par-72, 7,226 yards, 74.8 / 139
Blue tees: par-72, 6,863 yards, 73.1 / 136
White tees: par-72, 6,299 yards, 70.2 / 130
Green tees: par-72, 5,812 yards, 68.2 / 125
Black tees: par-72, 5,522 yards, 70.9 / 122
Red tees: par-72, 5,184 yards, 69.1 / 117

This is a top notch facility all around. The course layout is awesome and scenic. You get rolling hills, large oaks and many shots that must carry water or a marsh. The greens are large, firm and fast. Another benfit is the fairways are wide so it is not too difficult.

Booked our tee time on golfnow and showed up at the pro shop. Big guy behind the counter was rather unfriendly and stand offish, some would say rude and arrogant. People stood in the pro office talking rather than serving staff. Cart staff picked our clubs up and the starter was friendly but did not give us any advice or help. Our group was very disappointed with the condition of the course. We had heard many positive reviews about the condition. The tee boxes are waful, worth about a $15 course. Fairways ok but the greens all looked worn out and very patchy. We will not be coming out to play again at Jovita.

The management treats golfers poorly, they make you feel like you are just another dollar and are a bother.
The Lake Jovita Golf Courses are nice, but why go there and try to have a nice time if you're treated like a second class
citizen? They try to crowd too many in too short of time on the course resulting in 5 to 6 hour rounds which are no fun.
Could be a fine place, but as managed, I can't recommend.

A favorite facility, both courses are challenging yet fair, have never found it in poor condition, greens are always some of the fastest in the area. A real treat to play.

Day 49 - 100 days, 100 courses (Wednesday, May 1, 2019)
How do you get upset about playing golf on a picturesque course with the sun shining, and you shout the temperature (87 in both counts)?
I was playing alone behind 5 foursomes so it was slow. The guys in front kept apologizing. I told them everything was just fine, that I was just out there enjoying a beautiful day.
After 13 holes Norm caught up with me and we had an enjoyable few holes where I learned about the Lake Jovita community.
Note: 1 lost ball.
